Ball Band Dishcloths for My New House
I realized that I needed to stay sane so I can make it through the packing, moving, home-sale, home-purchasing, job change, and growing accustomed to a new city. So, I decided to knit something for my new home, wherever it turns out to be. I am sure that somewhere in the Denver Metro area is a home that needs some sunny new dishcloths! And here they are...
I used "Peaches and Cream" worsted cotton. I bought this yarn online at the recommendation of Ann and Kay from Mason Dixon Knitting. On the ball, I didn't think it felt any different from "Sugar and Cream", but honestly, the "Peaches and Cream" knits up much more nicely, and has a thicker, softer feel to me than the "Sugar and Cream." The colorway of the variegated yarn I used is called Pink Lemonade, I can't remember the names of the solids I used. Here's a closer picture:
This pattern is a lot of fun for me to knit; not a lot of thinking involved once you get the pattern memorized, and just when I got bored with the color I was using, I'd switch to a coordinating one and it turned interesting again. Not to mention, cotton yarn is cheap, and the fact that it is for my new home makes it more fun for me.
