Snow and Socks!
Today we had a huge snow in Albuquerque. Maybe not huge for North Dakota or someplace else, but definitely a big deal here. So in addition to a pretty snowfall, and no place to go due to bad road conditions, I scored a free day of Knitting. And I finished my FIRST PAIR OF SOCKS EVER!!! And right now, I am going to post the FIRST EVER LINK TO MY BLOG in the Knitty Gallery. I feel like I have graduated to a new level of knitting and blogging!
(This picture is from the local news channel, KOAT's website)
Here are the particulars:
Pattern: Basic sock pattern from The Purl Stitch by Sally Melville
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in the Tahoe colorway; about 1 1/2 skeins
Needles: US #2 (Began w/ Bryspun plastic dpns, and changed to Clover bamboo. Bryspun were nice and smooth and I loved the tips, but the size 2 needle was just too floppy.)

Those are very pretty first socks! That's a special milestone in a knitter's life. Congratulations!
