The yarn is Plymouth Royal Llama Silk, and it is beautiful and soft, and the silk makes it nearly perfect. If I didn't knit it up, I would have just petted it. I won it in a Ravelry contest from my LYS, Knitty Cat. Thanks Ann!
This was a relatively quick knit, it took me about 3 hours to finish each mitt. I like that it used only one skein of yarn (I had 12 yards leftover from a 103-yard skein.), and that it uses worsted weight, of which I have plenty on hand. I think they'd be great gifts, since the cables make them a little fancy.
